ASPN Labs · Hair Loss
Hair loss, treated as a whole-system issue
Thinning has more than one cause. We look at your scalp, your labs and your lifestyle, then build a protocol that may include prescription treatment alongside nutrition, stress, sleep and scalp-care support.
Takes about 5 minutes. A licensed clinician reviews your answers before any prescription is issued. You are only charged if you are approved.

Why ASPN
The ASPN difference
Individualized, not templated
Your protocol is built from your history, labs and goals, and it changes when your data does.
Labs and data guided
Labs such as thyroid, iron stores, vitamin D and hormones may be recommended, since they can contribute to thinning and may change your plan.
Coaching beyond the prescription, with membership
ASPN members can add guidance across nutrition, exercise, sleep and lifestyle. Coaching depends on your membership tier and is not part of the prescription-only path.
Concierge support, by tier
Check-ins and messaging between visits are available to members, depending on tier. Every patient has access to clinician review for their prescription.

Coaching and support services depend on your ASPN membership and tier. A prescription-only path without coaching is also available.
Process
How it works
Share your story and your data.
Complete a private questionnaire. We may also recommend labs and, if you use one, your wearable data.
A licensed clinician reviews.
A clinician reviews your information and decides whether any prescription treatment is appropriate for you. Not everyone qualifies, and some people are best served by lifestyle guidance alone.
Get your individualized protocol.
Your plan may include prescription treatment, only if prescribed. If you are an ASPN member, it can also include coaching on nutrition, exercise and lifestyle, depending on your tier. Prescriptions are prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy and shipped to you. You are charged only if approved and treatment is dispensed.
Stay supported and adjust.
Your clinician reviews your treatment as needed. Members, depending on tier, also get regular check-ins and data reviews to keep the protocol current.

Everything you need to know
Who this is for
- Men and women noticing thinning at the crown, temples or part line
- People who want a clinician-guided option rather than over-the-counter products alone
- Anyone who wants an easy, discreet, ongoing routine
Start with your data
Thinning can have more than one contributor. If you want a baseline, ASPN offers lab testing you can order on its own, such as the ASPN Ultimate Health Panel. Your clinician may recommend labs before or alongside treatment.
Where medication may fit
If a clinician determines treatment is appropriate, options may include the following. Your clinician selects the formula and strength.
Combination topical (finasteride, minoxidil, tretinoin)
A custom-compounded daily topical solution that combines multiple ingredients in one bottle so your routine stays simple. Prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy.
Oral finasteride
A once-daily tablet. For men, often paired with a topical. Available as a stand-alone option, and also in a finasteride and biotin capsule.
Advanced topical with dutasteride
A compounded topical formula that includes dutasteride, for men who your clinician feels may benefit from a stronger approach.
Women's topical formulas
Compounded topical formulas chosen by your clinician for women, which may include minoxidil, tretinoin and vitamin E, with or without other ingredients such as progesterone.
Scalp support add-ons
Optional extras your clinician may suggest, such as GHK-Cu scalp foam.
What a member protocol may include beyond medication
- Nutrition guidance for the nutrients hair depends on, such as protein, iron and vitamin D
- Sleep, stress and training habits that can influence shedding
- A simple scalp-care routine and a realistic 3 to 6 month timeline
- Progress check-ins with photos so you and your team can see what is changing
Coaching and lifestyle guidance supports your overall health and does not replace medical care. Prescriptions are issued only by a licensed clinician.
Coaching and support services depend on your ASPN membership and tier. A prescription-only path without coaching is also available.
What to expect
- Hair growth is slow. Most people use treatment for at least 3 to 6 months before judging results, and ongoing use is usually needed to keep them.
- Some people see an early temporary increase in shedding.
- Your clinician may check in with you at 30 and 90 days to review how you are doing and adjust your plan.
- Results vary and are not guaranteed.

Important safety information
- Not for use by anyone who is pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Women who may become pregnant should discuss finasteride and dutasteride with a clinician; these formulas are only prescribed after careful review.
- Oral finasteride and dutasteride can cause side effects, including changes in sexual function or mood in some people. Tell your clinician right away if you notice any and ask about risks before you start.
- Topical minoxidil can cause scalp irritation and, in some people, unwanted facial hair or lightheadedness. Tell your clinician about heart or blood pressure conditions.
- Tell your clinician about all medications you take and any liver disease or prostate conditions.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a typical online prescription service?
At ASPN Labs, medication, when appropriate, is one part of an individualized protocol. ASPN members can add labs-guided planning and coaching on nutrition, exercise, sleep and lifestyle, with ongoing support from their care team. Which services you receive depends on your membership and tier. Whether a prescription is appropriate is always decided by a licensed clinician.
Do I get coaching if I only want the prescription?
Not automatically. Coaching and support services depend on membership and tier. You can go through the prescription flow without a membership, and in that case the medication-only path applies, with clinician review but without coaching.
Is this a real prescription?
Yes. A licensed clinician must review your information and approve treatment. If you are not approved, your card is not charged.
Why a compounded topical?
Compounding allows several ingredients to be combined into one daily product. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. Your clinician explains the differences.
Do I need to send photos?
Yes. Clear scalp photos help your clinician understand the pattern and decide on a plan.
How long until I see results?
It takes time. Many people wait 3 to 6 months before judging. Results are not guaranteed.
Can I cancel or pause?
Yes. You can change or pause your plan at any time from your account.

Next step
Ready to build your protocol?
Prescription treatment is available only if a licensed clinician determines it is appropriate for you after reviewing your health history. Not everyone will qualify. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy; they are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not verify their safety, effectiveness or quality. Individual results vary and no outcome is guaranteed. This page is for educational purposes and is not medical advice. If you have a medical emergency, call 911.
