ASPN Labs · Women's Hormones
Women's hormone care built around your biology and your life
Perimenopause and menopause are not one-size-fits-all. Your protocol is shaped by your symptoms, labs and goals, and supported with guidance on nutrition, strength training, sleep and stress.
Takes about 5 minutes. A licensed clinician reviews your answers before any prescription is issued. You are only charged if you are approved.

Why ASPN
The ASPN difference
Individualized, not templated
Your protocol is built from your history, labs and goals, and it changes when your data does.
Labs and data guided
Hormone, thyroid, metabolic and other labs help your clinician and care team personalize your plan and monitor safety.
Coaching beyond the prescription, with membership
ASPN members can add guidance across nutrition, exercise, sleep and lifestyle. Coaching depends on your membership tier and is not part of the prescription-only path.
Concierge support, by tier
Check-ins and messaging between visits are available to members, depending on tier. Every patient has access to clinician review for their prescription.

Coaching and support services depend on your ASPN membership and tier. A prescription-only path without coaching is also available.
Process
How it works
Share your story and your data.
Complete a private questionnaire. We may also recommend labs and, if you use one, your wearable data.
A licensed clinician reviews.
A clinician reviews your information and decides whether any prescription treatment is appropriate for you. Not everyone qualifies, and some people are best served by lifestyle guidance alone.
Get your individualized protocol.
Your plan may include prescription treatment, only if prescribed. If you are an ASPN member, it can also include coaching on nutrition, exercise and lifestyle, depending on your tier. Prescriptions are prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy and shipped to you. You are charged only if approved and treatment is dispensed.
Stay supported and adjust.
Your clinician reviews your treatment as needed. Members, depending on tier, also get regular check-ins and data reviews to keep the protocol current.

Everything you need to know
Who this is for
- Women in perimenopause or menopause with hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood changes or brain fog
- Women noticing lower energy, libido or sense of well-being
- Women who want a clinician to look at their hormones as a whole
Start with your data
Labs help personalize this pathway. You can order the ASPN Hormone Optimization Test or the broader ASPN Ultimate Health Panel directly from ASPN. Your clinician may recommend recent labs before prescribing, and labs are sold separately from treatment.
Where medication may fit
If a clinician determines treatment is appropriate, options may include the following. Your clinician selects the hormone, form and dose.
Estradiol
The main estrogen used in hormone therapy. Available in several forms, including capsules, creams and long-acting pellets, selected by your clinician.
Progesterone
Often prescribed alongside estrogen for women who still have a uterus, and sometimes to help support sleep. Available as capsules, creams and troches.
Estriol cream
A topical option for some women, including for vaginal and urogenital symptoms.
Testosterone, low dose
Some clinicians prescribe a low dose of testosterone to women for symptoms such as low desire. This is an off-label use, dosed far lower than for men, and monitored with labs. Not right for everyone.
DHEA
Sometimes considered as part of a hormone plan, based on labs and symptoms.
Labs and monitoring
Baseline and follow-up labs help your clinician tune your plan and keep it safe.
What a member protocol may include beyond medication
- Strength training and protein guidance to support bone, muscle and metabolism
- Nutrition and gut, blood-sugar and energy strategies for this stage of life
- Sleep and stress support, because they amplify symptoms
- Check-ins and lab reviews so your plan changes as you do
Coaching and lifestyle guidance supports your overall health and does not replace medical care. Prescriptions are issued only by a licensed clinician.
Coaching and support services depend on your ASPN membership and tier. A prescription-only path without coaching is also available.

Important safety information
- Hormone therapy is not appropriate for everyone. Tell your clinician about breast or uterine cancer, blood clots, stroke, heart disease, unexplained vaginal bleeding, liver disease or pregnancy.
- Estrogen therapy can raise the risk of blood clots, stroke and some cancers in some women. Do not use hormone therapy without clinician guidance.
- Report unexpected vaginal bleeding, chest pain, shortness of breath, severe headache or leg swelling to a clinician right away.
- Testosterone is not FDA-approved for use in women; use is off-label. Possible effects include acne and unwanted hair growth.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a typical online prescription service?
At ASPN Labs, medication, when appropriate, is one part of an individualized protocol. ASPN members can add labs-guided planning and coaching on nutrition, exercise, sleep and lifestyle, with ongoing support from their care team. Which services you receive depends on your membership and tier. Whether a prescription is appropriate is always decided by a licensed clinician.
Do I get coaching if I only want the prescription?
Not automatically. Coaching and support services depend on membership and tier. You can go through the prescription flow without a membership, and in that case the medication-only path applies, with clinician review but without coaching.
Do I need labs first?
In most cases, yes. Labs help your clinician make safe and effective decisions, and we help you arrange them.
Is bioidentical hormone therapy FDA-approved?
Some forms of hormones are FDA-approved. Compounded versions made by a licensed pharmacy are not FDA-approved. Your clinician will explain the difference.
Does it help with libido?
Hormone therapy may be one piece. Your clinician can also discuss other options on our sexual wellness page.
What if I am not approved?
You are not charged. Your card is only charged if you are approved and treatment is dispensed.
How soon will I feel a difference?
It varies. Some women notice changes in weeks, others take longer. Results are not guaranteed.

Next step
Ready to build your protocol?
Prescription treatment is available only if a licensed clinician determines it is appropriate for you after reviewing your health history. Not everyone will qualify. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy; they are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not verify their safety, effectiveness or quality. Individual results vary and no outcome is guaranteed. This page is for educational purposes and is not medical advice. If you have a medical emergency, call 911.
